MacInnis Natural Resource Services Inc. is a fish habitat and environmental consulting firm based out of Antigonish, Nova Scotia. Specializing in habitat assessments for both environmental restoration projects and infrastructure development we offer quality services and one on one consultation with all our clients. We believe proper communication is the backbone of efficiency.


Charles MacInnis – Chief Habitat Biologist

Charles spent three decades working for the Department of Fisheries and Oceans as the chief freshwater habitat biologist and habitat coordinator for the Gulf Region of Nova Scotia.

Charles has been recognized throughout the habitat restoration community for his extensive work in the field of salmon habitat restoration. His work on the Brierly Brook in the 1990s paved the way for habitat restoration projects across Canada.

Nicholas MacInnis – Watershed Coordinator and Restoration Specialist

Nicholas completed a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies in Aquatic Resources at St. Francis Xavier University in 2012. He has spent five years working in the habitat restoration sector and has been involved in numerous watershed planning and data collection projects.

Nicholas has extensive knowledge in project planning and fundraising, utilizing both provincial and federal programs and grants to help leverage project inputs. He will be completing a Masters Degree in Resource and Environmental Studies in 2017 at Dalhousie University.
